The kindly shut the f*** up Mug: Polite to the Last Asterisk
From across the office it looks like a fine pinstripe. Up close it is a request. A very polite one, with three asterisks.
If you can read it, you are standing too close.
A pattern with a hidden message
kindly shut the f*** up runs all the way round the mug, over and over, in upright columns of fine serif type. Walk past and you see stripes. Stop, tilt your head, and you are reading it.
You know kindly from work emails. “Kindly note.” “Kindly advise.” It is how the office says something blunt while sounding entirely civil. The mug simply finishes the thought.
A passive-aggressive mug for anyone paid to be polite
For anyone who says “happy to help” all day long, at reception, on the helpdesk or in customer service. For the project manager explaining, for the fourth time, what is already in the minutes. For the meeting that could have been an email.
A cheeky birthday present, a gift for the colleague with a dark sense of humour, or a treat for yourself. The mug says what you are thinking. Just quietly enough that nobody notices.
Fair warning: the F-word wears asterisks, but nobody is fooled. From a distance, nobody notices either.
Black or colourful lettering
The mug comes in two versions. Black lettering is the discreet one, for offices with a dress code. Colourful lettering runs the columns in pastel turquoise, green, yellow and pink. Almost cheerful from a distance. The same request up close.
White, or with colour inside
The mug comes in plain white or with a coloured inside and matching handle: yellow, pink, green, red, blue or black.
