The Wenn Ja dann Nein Mug: an IF Formula with One Answer
It looks like logic. It is built like logic. It is a no with a run-up.
The mug says it in German: Wenn Ja dann Nein – ansonsten nope. If yes, then no – otherwise nope.
The front sets the condition. The back covers every other case. Both end the same way.
One condition, one outcome
Wenn Ja dann Nein runs across the front in a blue serif, with Ja and Nein in italics. If yes, then no. Clean condition, clean result. Only on the back do you realise there was never another way out: ansonsten nope. Otherwise, nope.
Spreadsheet people will read the formula straight away: =IF(A1="yes","no","nope"). Two branches, one result. The mug doesn’t calculate. It made up its mind long ago.
It also sounds a lot like a German form: “If yes, please continue to question 7.” Except question 7 has already been answered.
A funny gift for Excel lovers, accountants and programmers
For the finance colleague whose IF formulas run to three lines. For developers who guard every if with an else. For the accountant who answers every question with “it depends”. For anyone who reads forms the way other people read crime novels.
A funny gift for someone who loves Excel: for a birthday, for passing the accountancy exams or for Secret Santa in the finance team. For anyone who has ever filled in a German form and lived to tell the tale.
And for parents of teenagers. The answer to “can I stay out later?” is already printed on it.
White, or with colour inside
The mug comes in plain white or with a coloured inside and matching handle: yellow, pink, green, red, blue or black.
