The Sholy Hit Mug: a Spoonerism with Consequences
Sholy Hit. Read it twice, then swap the first sounds.
Or just turn the mug round. The back has done it for you.
Innocent on the front, Holy Shit on the back
The front reads Sholy Hit in a blue serif, with Hit in italics. It could be a typo, or a pop song nobody remembers. On the back, the opening sounds trade places: Holy Shit, this time with Holy in italics.
It is a spoonerism, named after William Spooner, an Oxford don famous for doing it by accident, mid-sentence and in front of an audience. This one is entirely on purpose.
Say Sholy Hit out loud and you can already hear the back.
A funny mug for exam results, surprises and colleagues
For exam results day, when the first reaction to the grade was exactly two words. For finals, a finished apprenticeship, or a driving test passed at the third attempt. For a birthday when the number on the cake comes as a bit of a shock.
For the first look at the inbox after a fortnight off. For the manager who keeps their composure over the quarterly figures and only loses their letters. And for colleagues with a sense of humour, who start reading the moment someone turns the mug.
Fair warning: the back says Shit. In meetings, keep the front facing out.
White, or with colour inside
The mug comes in plain white or with a coloured inside and matching handle: yellow, pink, green, red, blue or black.
